Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  – An investigation is underway involving a Rochester woman who was hit by a car earlier this week.  Police were notified Friday she has died.

Captain John Sherwin says 72-year-old Margaret Miland was riding a bicycle around 6:15 Tuesday morning near Lourdes High School when she was hit.

Sherwin says she was riding south on the path located at the northwest corner of the Valleyhigh Drive/19th St NW intersection and was struck when she entered the roadway. Sherwin says her head hit the windshield. She suffered a serious head injury and some bone fractures but was still conscious when an officer arrived.

The car that hit her was driven by 24-year-old Fathi Geyre of Rochester, who was northbound and turning west onto 19th St from Valleyhigh Dr.

It’s not known at this time if charges will be filed.
