Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The FBI has been asked to look into a threat leveled against a Rochester woman running for Congress.

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations made the request after Democrat Regina Mustafa filed a police report concerning a comment that was recently posted to a YouTube video that stated “she would be shot.” A statement issued by CAIR says “this type of threat targets the fundamental civil right of political participation and serves to intimidate anyone from a minority community seeking to serve the nation as an elected official.”

Mustafa, who launched her congressional campaign last month, is among the seven Democrats seeking the First District Congressional seat now held by Tim Walz. In a Tweet posted yesterday, Mustafa indicated the online threat has made her even more determined.
