Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester couple woke up early today to find two men armed with guns inside their home.

Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin says the 31-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were asleep in the basement bedroom other home in the 2100 block of Elton Hills Drive Northwest when the woman was awakened by a noise around 2 a.m. and alerted the man. They told the investigating officers a light was then turned on in the basement and they were able to see two intruders, who were both armed with handguns.

The victims say one of the men ordered them to get on the floor before the two men fled from the house with some stolen electronics, cash and other items.

The male victim told police he ran upstairs and looked out a window after the robbers exited the home and spotted four people fleeing on foot. Capt. Sherwin says the home was equipped with a security camera, but it was apparently pulled off the house and tossed into a neighbor’s yard by one of the robbers.
