A website called niche.com recently came out with lists of the best public high schools in each state. Checking out the list for Minnesota, it was a pleasant surprise to see where our three public high schools in Rochester ranked. All three are among the top 40 in the state, and one is in the top 15.

Our very own Century High School was ranked at #14, Mayo came in at #26 and John Marshall placed at #37. A few other southeast Minnesota-area schools also found a place on the list’s top 100, including Byron, Caledonia, Dover-Eyota and St. Charles.

According to the website, “a high ranking indicates that the school is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experience very highly.”

The ranking takes into account several aspects of the student experience, including academics, health and safety and student culture and diversity. Visit their website to see the complete list of schools in Minnesota’s top 100, learn more about each school’s ranking in-depth, and find out more about the survey.
