Rochester Man Loses Phone in Craigslist Incident

A Rochester man claims he

became a victim of a Craigslist-related incident last Friday.  Police say the 45 year old man had made contact with the person who placed an ad on the online site to sell a cellphone.  The two agreed to meet at a site in the 5200 block of Duvall Place northwest around 6:30 Friday morning.

The victim says he was waiting in his car when a masked man armed with a knife opened the passenger door and demanded his money. Instead, the man jumped out of his car and ran away.  He later told police the stranger had taken his cellphone, which was in the car.

Police say a very similar incident occurred in the same area earlier this year.
