Rochester, MN  (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in a shooting last year and a weapons possession conviction from 2013.

Court documents indicate 22-year-old Charles Webster asked Olmsted County Judge Joseph Chase to send him to prison during his sentencing hearing Thursday morning.

Webster earlier pleaded guilty to an aiding and offender charge for serving as the getaway driver for a teenage gunman accused of shooting a man in the chin during what police say was a drug-related attempted robbery last July.

He was given a 39-month sentence for the shooting, which he will serve concurrently with a 5-year prison sentence for violating the terms of his probation in the gun possession case.
