A Rochester man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his involvement in a recent home invasion.

33-year-old Tirone Ruth pleaded guilty to a weapons possession charge as part of a plea agreement that included the dismissal of first degree aggravated robbery and burglary charges.

He was arrested in late May when police responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 2200 block of Park Lane Southeast, where officers determined two men had barged into the home and threatened the occupants at gunpoint.  One of the victims managed to place the 911 call and police arrived while the intruders were still in the home.

The second suspect escaped by jumping from a second story window and sped away in a SUV which was found abandoned a short distance away.
