A Rochester has been given a stayed prison sentence for his involvement in a violent incident in June.

49-year-old William Wilson was originally charged with felony assault and two other felony level offenses, but was allowed to enter a guilty plea to a vehicle theft charge in the case. He and another man were accused of assaulting a 33-year-old man and holding him against his will after the victim went to Wilson’s residence in June to discuss a debt he apparently owed to one of the men.

 Wilson will be required to spend two months in jail and will be on probation for four years.

The other man charged in the case, 37-year-old Robert Ferguson, is due back in court October 17th for an evidentiary hearing.
