I was Googling some info about Rochester this morning and a link for the Urban Dictionary definition of Rochester showed up in the results.  I was intrigued.

The top definition for the Med City starts off by talking about Mayo and IBM:

"these two big "businesses" virtually dominate the jobs in Rochester, almost everyone’s mom or dad works at either of the two."

Sadly, IBM's presence in Rochester continues to shrink, but, overall, this is fairly accurate.

The next line on the site says,

"Lots of drugs, and a growing crime rate ever since it was pronounced the best place to live in the US in 93 or 94."

That might be the perception but Police Chief Roger Peterson told the City Council in April that crime in Rochester was at a 40-year low.

The Urban Dictionary entry wraps up by saying,

"The growing rate of Rochester is staggering, and already tops 100,000 people, with over 7,000 visitors at any given time. A four-year college is believed to be a possibility in the near future, and will most likely make rochester, truly , a radical place to live."

Rochester is a radical place to live. As a matter of fact, Livability.com just named Rochester the #1 city on its list of “Top 100 Best Places to Live for 2016″. Additionally, Rochester was named one of the best places in the state to raise a family and one of the best places in the country to retire.

So, if you were writing an entry about Rochester on Urban Dictionary, what kinds of things would you say to define it?
