Rochester Police Arrest Suspected Serial Car Thief
Rochester, MN (KROC News) - A suspected serial car thief was nabbed by Rochester police Sunday night - while driving a stolen car.
Since August, Rochester police have been receiving reports of stolen older Honda models.
Investigators recently began keeping an eye on the suspect and on Sunday they spotted a stolen Honda in his driveway in the 1000 block of East Center St. The residence was put under surveillance and around 8:30 p.m., and the suspect and his girlfriend got in the car and drove off.
Officers attempted to stop him but he led them on a short chase and then ditched the car near St. Francis School and the two fled on foot.They were later caught.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Moeun Mok.
A spokesman says he has been linked to 3 or 4 of the stolen cars but it’s suspected he stole others.
