Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester teenager was arrested early Saturday morning after admitting firing a gun near the RCTC campus.

Police were sent to the 800 block of 21st Ave SE around 1:30 a.m. and a witness reported hearing four shots and saw a vehicle drive away.

The car was located nearby and a handgun was found inside the vehicle.  A 17 year old in the vehicle admitted he was the one who had fired the shots. After it was learned the gun was reported stolen in Illinois, the teen was taken into custody. He is facing charges of possession of a stolen gun and reckless discharge of a gun.

A spokesman says there was no evidence the shots hit anything or the teen was firing at anyone.
