Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man described by police as a prolific burglar was arrested Wednesday as a suspect in a new case.

Police received a call from a homeowner in the 1900 block of 24th St NW who had spotted a suspicious-looking man who was walking through the neighborhood, trying to open garage service doors.

He was gone when officers arrived but they were aware the suspect lived in the same neighborhood and met with him. He was eventually arrested and police are now trying to see if he broke into a house in the same area.

A woman called Tuesday to report her house had been broken into sometime in the last several weeks. Cash and items totaling $1700 were missing.

The suspect - 34-year-old Sean Jacobson - has denied he broke into the home.

Police say he was arrested earlier for some other burglaries. Police say Jacobson is an addicted gambler and suspect he breaks into homes to support his habit.
