Rochester, MN  (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester police officer had to go to St. Mary’s Monday night after being suckerpunched.

Officers were sent to a northwest residence around 9 o’clock after numerous calls about a loud and escalating dispute between a man and his ex-girlfriend.  The officers decided to put him in a squad car until he settled down. As they were in the process of putting him in the rear seat, the man swung and punched one of the officers in the head.

The man - 26 year old Levar Booth - was then taken to jail and is expected to face charges.

The officer was treated for a concussion and sent home.
