Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  A Rochester woman and three young children were hurt Saturday morning when the vehicle they were in was hit by a car being pursued by police.

The incident happened at 9 a.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and 4th Avenue SW. A police spokesman says officers and a state trooper were involved in the pursuit of the 26 year old man, identified as Matthew Judy. The spokesman says Judy had an incident with his parole officer shortly before the pursuit. She was conducting a check at his residence in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue SE when he fled.

The 26 year old woman driving the SUV he collided with was taken to St. Mary’s, as were the three young children. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Judy - who police suspect had been drinking - was treated for minor injuries and then taken to jail.

Judy is a high risk sex offender who was designated a Level 3 offender after he was sent to prison in 2009 for forcibly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2006.  He was released from prison in February and is in the Department of Correction’s intensive supervision program.
