Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested over the weekend as a suspect in the reported sexual assault of a local teenager.

Police were contacted around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning by a resident who lives near the Riverside Central School in southeast Rochester. A 19-year-old had come to the home asking for help, saying she had been raped and robbed of her cellphone and money by two men.

The teen told police she had met the men earlier that night and they went to the playground area of the school around 3 a.m. The teen says she had been drinking and decided to lay down. She says that’s when she was assaulted.

Police investigators used surveillance video from a convenience store near the school to identify one of the men and he was later located. Arrested was 26-year-old Darius Pitchford of Rochester. He is being held on criminal sexual conduct and other charges.
