Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man who police say created a disturbance at a local restaurant Wednesday night helped solve an earlier crime - because he was wearing the evidence.

Police were contacted around 7 p.m. Wednesday by the Knight’s Chamber clothing store at University Square after a man had walked off with a suit, shirt and a necktie. An employee later found some discarded clothes in a nearby restroom, apparently left by the thief.

The same officer who was sent to the store was dispatched to Bilotti’s Pizzeria along Civic Center Drive three hours later to check on a report of a man who was yelling at customers and making a scene.

The officer determined the man matched the description of the clothing store thief and also noticed the new suit he was wearing. The man, 57-year-old Terry Scott, is now facing a theft charge.
