Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -  Teachers in the Rochester School District have approved a tentative contract agreement.

Members of the Rochester Education Association held a contract ratification vote Wednesday evening and approved the agreement by a 69 to 31 percent margin. The two-year deal is scheduled to be on the agenda for a vote by the Rochester School Board next Tuesday evening.

It calls for the teachers to receive a general pay increase of 2.5-percent for the current school year, and a 3-percent increase in the second year of the contract. The first year salary increase would be retroactive to July 1st of last year.
