Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Just days after issuing an advisory about two recent incidents involving Rochester women who were assaulted by a strange man comes word of another similar attack.

Rochester Police Capt John Sherwin says a 16-year-old went for a run around 11:15 Tuesday night in the Meadow Run neighborhood in the southwest part of the city when a man approached and grabbed her by the shoulders. The teen says she punched the man in the chest and ran home and called 911.

She describes the man as white, 6 feet tall, thin and in his 50s.

Sherwin says it’s not known if this is the same man involved in last week’s incidents. He says he doesn’t want to alarm the public but urges women who are going to be out alone to be aware of their surroundings. One of the victims in the earlier incidents was also a teenager.

Sherwin says his department is concerned because there hasn’t been a report like this in four years and suddenly, there have been three in one week. And he says there are similarities in each of these incidents.
