Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police are looking for a man who twice assaulted a teenage boy.

Police Lieutenant Mike Sadauskis says the teenager came to the Olmsted Medical Center seeking treatment for multiple facial fractures Friday afternoon. The teen told officers the first assault occurred around 8:45 Wednesday night when he went to meet a stranger at Cooke Park to purchase some marijuana in a deal the two had arranged via Snapchat. When the 16-year-old arrived at the park he was approached by a black male with dreadlocks who punched him in the face and knocked him unconscious before stealing his cell phone.

The teenager then contacted the same man on Snapchat seeking the return of his phone and even offered to pay for it. Lieutenant Sadauskis says the pair arranged to meet at the same park and the outcome was nearly the same. The boy was punched in the face again and robbed of the $60 he had brought with him to buy back his stolen phone.

He initially told his mother that his facial injuries were the result of a mugging but he eventually confessed after his mother brought him in to be treated for his injuries.
