Now what?!?

That was my immediate reaction when I saw the picture above. Can you blame me?

There hasn't been much good news as of late. Police shootings, terrorist attacks, violent protests and police officers getting ambushed have dominated the headlines in recent weeks.

In times like these, it's easy to lose hope.

But it turns out that this picture was the breath of fresh air that I needed.

Kate Fitzgerald shared the picture and explained to me that she was visiting her dad at the fire station on 41st Street NW here in Rochester when Officer Jacobs stopped in. As Jacobs was leaving, a group of kids walked up to the officer's SUV and started praying. Fitzgerald said, "I was so happy to see that, so I took a picture."

This is a ray of light that many people need to see during these dark times.

I'm proud of these kids and happy to see that this incredible act happened in our community.

Don't lose faith in humanity! Most of us are still pretty exceptional human beings.
