Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It wasn’t a daytime shooting that brought Rochester police officers to a southeast neighborhood Tuesday. Try a woman with a hatchet chasing a man.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of 10th Ave SE near Slatterly Park around 1:30 p.m.

They discovered the incident involved a man, his girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend. She lives next door to the couple and at first confronted the new girlfriend. Police say 34-year-old Samantha Bennett stuck the hatchet in the front door of their residence. She then started chasing her ex and threw the hatchet at him.

Bennett was arrested and is facing assault and other charges.
