Rochesterfest's move to Soldiers Field got underway on Monday. After a soggy start to begin the day, the sun came out and so did the people. Most of the feedback regarding the new Soldiers Field location was very positive. Many cited the open space, green grass and park setting as a plus. 30 vendors were selling all kinds of food...burgers, pizza, wraps, mini donuts, ice cream and more.

Child care day at the Fest included a petting zoo with miniature horses, sheep. goats and rabbits. Kids also colored a mural and listened and danced to music geared toward them on the main stage at noon.

Pure Rock Studios performed at 4 pm and the night wrapped up with the popular Teen Night which featured a hypnotist, DJ, a climbing wall, bizarre foods of Rochester and a Pannekoeken-eating contest which was both messy and fun.

Earlier in the day, the Rochesterfest Treasure Medallion was found along a bike path on the north side of Cascade Lake. The winners will be revealed on Friday when they are presented with their $1,000 prize on the Rochesterfest stage at noon.

Tuesday is Senior Day at the Fest from 11 to 1 with noontime entertainment from Swing Street, Bingo under the tent and celebrity meet-n-greets.  A Salute to Veterans will take place at 5:45 followed by the Rochester Concert Band performing several patriotic songs. The night caps off with the annual Celebrity Game Night. Local celebrities scheduled to appear include: Randy Brock from KTTC/Fox 47, Steve Lange of Rochester Magazine, Samm Adams and Miss Rochester Madeline Van Ert. They'll team up with local veterans and members of the audience to play 'Family Feud' on the main stage.

A reminder that Free Trolley Rides are available from 1st Avenue SW (near the Marriott Hotel) to take people to and from Rochesterfest weekdays between 11am and 2pm.
