Rochester’s Gas Prices Return to Pre-Harvey Levels
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Gasoline prices in the Rochester area have dropped back to where they were before they took off in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
The storm forced the temporary closure of numerous refineries and that led to a nationwide increase in gasoline prices in late August.
Rochester’s average for a gallon of regular was around $2.30. It shot up to $2.55 in just over a week, the highest in the city in two years.
Prices began falling a few weeks later and Thursday night they had settled at $2.30 for regular.
GasBuddy Minnesota was reporting the statewide average for regular was $2.36 as of Friday morning. A year ago, the average was $2.18.
