Welcome to winter. The National Weather Service in La Crosse posted the image below with temps across the region at 2 a.m. this morning.
Today's high will reach 8 above but the wind will pick up tonight and create dangerous wind chills. A wind chill advisory has been issued for our listening area from 3a.m. Tuesday morning until noon on Tuesday.
The NWS says, "From late this evening into Tuesday, northwest winds will range from 15 to 25 mph. These winds will cause some blowing and drifting of the snow. In addition, they will lower the wind chills into the 15 to 25 below range. Wind chills this cold can produce frost bite on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes."
