Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus Thursday night. He was best known as the front man of the 90s band Stone Temple Pilots.

A statement on the singer's social media account asked for privacy, “Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”

Weiland and his group were set to perform in Rochester on Friday at the Wicked Moose. He was 48.
