Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester Public Utilities has issued an advisory  in the wake of reports of discolored water at St. Marys Hospital.

RPU spokesman Tony Benson says the city’s water “is safe to drink” and they are confident the issue at St Marys “is internal to the campus.”

Benson says the concern was brought to RPU’s attention Monday.

The concern dealt with sediment and rust or black-colored water showing up in sinks and toilets. Benson says RPU flushed areas surrounding the campus and found no discolored water, verifying it was limited to the hospital campus.

He says RPU and Saint Marys officials “will continue to address the discoloration issue and work to determine the cause.”
