I tore my hamstring during the Nationals softball tournament. It was heartbreaking ending the season with a "pop" (literally). I did the splits playing first, and was in a stupid amount of pain for the next few days. FORTUNATELY, I did not tear it off the bone, meaning NO surgery, BUT still 6 weeks of recovery time.

I honestly don't know what I'd do without the miracle worker that is KT tape.

People always ask, what does tape REALLY do for a muscle injury?

According to my physical therapist at Sports Med, "it puts that muscle to rest."

"Kinesio tape can be a huge asset for athletes.  Many therapists will use different tension strengths and techniques to allow the muscles and ligaments to have “help” when injury occurs. The tape essentially stabilizes an area to prevent any further damage. The great thing about the Kinesio tape is that it still allows for range of motion, just not so much that you are likely to injure yourself further" this according to breakingmuscle.com.
