5 Scary Movie Houses You Can Visit in Real Life

I would LOVE to see the American Horror Story house! (In broad daylight, of course!) With Halloween right around the corner, why not visit a fictional haunted house. Here's a list of some of the movie houses you CAN visit.

You better get your tickets to California because several of these, INCLUDING the 'American Horror Story' house, are out there.

Halloween
The 1978 movie was based in Illinois, but Michael Myers' spooky home ACTUALLY stands in South Pasadena, California.

Nightmare on Elm Street
The house is located just off Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood, and occupied by Nancy (Heather Langenkamp). The home sold in 2013 for more than $2 million.

American Horror Story
It's located in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. The Murder House (actually known as the Rosenheim Mansion) sold in March 2015 for $3.2 million. You can get a photo tour, thanks to HGTV.

Insidious Chapter 2
You can visit both houses that the central family occupies in the first film. The house from Insidious: Chapter 2 is much scarier. It's known as the Smith Estate (aka "El Mio") and is located in Highland Park, Los Angeles.

Silence of the Lambs
"The home that served as the lair of Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine), the non-hannibal Lector serial killer in the film is in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The house was put the on the market this past August," according to People Magazine.
