Section of Highway 52 Shut Down Because of Semi Accident
An accident involving a semi-truck has forced officials to close a section of Highway 52 in both directions. MnDot reports that the closure is Between 215th Street East and Elaine Avenue near Hampton (south of Coates) and that all lanes are blocked.
UPDATE: (11:54 a.m.) - Highway 52 has now re-opened.
At this time it is not know how long the highway will be shut down. It is also unknown if road conditions played a factor in the crash.
According to MnDot, road conditions are fine in southeast Minnesota but motorists should expect snow covered and icy conditions north of the Twin Cities. You can see the current conditions in your area, here.
