Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -  A section of Broadway in south Rochester is scheduled to close Tuesday night and there will be no designated detour.

The closure is needed for the removal of the pedestrian bridge that crosses South Broadway near the 3rd Avenue intersection.

The detour is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Tuesday and be in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday, or until the bridge has been removed. The detour will affect north and south traffic on South Broadway between 21st and 25th streets.

The bridge removal is part of the ongoing work on South Broadway that includes the installation of traffic control lights at the 3rd Ave. intersection.
