Pics taken by a new mom and her newborn son started making their rounds on Reddit a few days ago to mixed reactions...

So this is 7-week old Gabriel:

Cute little boy, which is why it's confusing that proud mom changed his image to this:

The good news is, it was all done on an app and not in real life. And in all honesty, if that's your thing in private, whatever, but why post them? I don't know, maybe I've become the over-sensitive dad that doesn't find it as entertaining as everyone else...? I might have even found it funny four months ago before I was holding my little dude in my arms, but even then I wouldn't think of turning him into the spawn of Julie Newmar, against his will, at least.

Three things are seem pretty clear to me:

1. Mom's got a weird/twisted sense of humor.

2. I feel sorry for this kid when his classmates catch all these pics online someday.

3. Last but certainly not least: It's pretty obvious mom wanted a girl. Really, it's mostly harmless now, and hopefully it never happens, but I'll really feel sorry for this little guy later in life if mom starts dressing him in girl's clothes and accessories against his wishes to fulfill a wish she never got; a girl. Don't take it out on your children just because you didn't get what you wanted in a child.

Am I being a whiny new dad or does this seem just a little too odd to you, too?
