I'm sure Owatonna residents have some stories to tell and pics to share from the HUGE amount of rain they got last week.  Steel County was one of the hardest-hit counties in the state, and was still in a flood warning on Saturday.  Since there's so few options for fishing in Rochester, my lovely lady and I enjoy taking the short drive to Lake Kohlmeier to reel in some sunnies and bass.  While we knew the water would probably be higher than normal, we had no idea it would still be this bad.  Keep in mind this is FOUR DAYS after the heavy rain stopped falling!

This is a pedestrian bridge at Kohlmeier.  There's usually a couple feet of clearance under the bridge, but is now inaccessible.  Notice to tables still almost completely under water.

There's a good 10-15 feet of shoreline missing because of the high water on the south end of the park.  The garbage cans did not get the memo.

The parking lot on the north side of the lake was flooded a few days ago.  It was still too close for comfort for the parks department, who still had it closed.

The city was using a pump to try to drop the level of the lake.

This is the pedestrian fishing pier at Lake Kolhmeier.  A section collapsed and became submerged in the high water.
