Pine Island Man Killed in Semi vs. Pedestrian Crash
A 71-year-old Pine Island man was killed Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a semi-truck near Zumbrota.
The State Patrol says Robert Fox was the driver of a car that was parked along the shoulder of Highway 58 north of Zumbrota when the deadly crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. The accident report states Fox was standing in the middle of the northbound lanes when he was hit by the truck, which was driven by 23-year-old Robert Nieman of Wanamingo. The State Patrol closed down Highway 58 for several hours while troopers investigated the fatal incident.
