The State Patrol says a Blooming Prairie teenager suffered serious injuries after a car crashed into his pickup after it apparently broke down in the middle of a Highway 218 just north of the Steele County Community around 5:30 Monday morning.

He was identified as 17-year-old Zach Slowinski. The occupants of the car, 28-year-old Princess Meeks of Byron and 36-year-old Shannon Irons of Dexter, also suffered serious injuries.
Two people were transported to the Winona hospital Monday morning after their motorcycle collided with a deer in Fillmore County. The State Patrol says 66-year-old Gerald Miller of Mound was driving his Harley Davidson east on Highway 16 around 11 a.m. when the deer came out of the ditch into the path of the motorcycle.

The State Patrol says Miller, and his 62-year-old wife, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
