Several Southeast Minnesota Towns issue Snow Emergencies
A winter storm warning continues for the KROC listening area until 6 p.m. Saturday evening. Snow is expected to continue through midday then blowing and drifting snow will create issues on the roads. Travel is not advised.
The following cities have issued a Snow Emergency:
Rochester: No parking on downtown streets from midnight - 8 a.m. Any violator will be ticketed and towed.
Byron: In effect until noon on Sunday. No street parking.
Red Wing: All cars parked on snow emergency routes must be moved and remain off of the street until noon on Saturday.
Stewartville: Snow emergency in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday. Any vehicle parked on city streets will be ticketed.
The Minnesota State Patrol is urging people to stay home until it is safe to travel.
