Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The man accused of a fatal shooting in Rochester early Wednesday was arraigned this morning in Olmsted County Court.

30-year-old Abdulkadir Omar Mohamed was formally charged with second-degree unintentional murder, second degree manslaughter, reckless discharge of a firearm and a gross misdemeanor weapons violation in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Abdullahi Omar Sheikh.

Unconditional bail was set at $400,000.

It’s alleged Mohamed was handling a gun in the back seat of a car driven by Sheikh when the weapon discharged and the bullet went through the driver’s seat and struck Sheikh in the upper torso. The incident occurred while the victim was driving on 2nd Street Southwest near St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mohamed’s next court appearance was scheduled on August 23rd.
