Traveling to Sibley Park has quickly become one of my favorite Holiday traditions.

For the last three years my wife and I have taken our kids to check out the Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato. The weather was beautiful on Saturday so we packed up the car and headed west to see Santa and the lights.

The park is lit up with over 1.5 million LED Christmas lights. Visitors can either walk the paths or drive along the outside of the park. (Walking is much more fun.) In addition to the lights, there are dozens of decorated Christmas trees, live reindeer and several themed areas that your kids will love. Starting December 15th visitors will be able to check out some amazing ice sculptures.

The display opens each night at 5. Get there by 4:30 and you'll be able to get a good parking spot, and you'll be one of the first in line to see Santa.

This event is free but the goal is to collect money/food for their local food shelf so please consider making a donation.
