In all seriousness, there is no good reason to have Halloween on a weeknight. You rush home after work to get your kids all dressed up, head out to gather candy, let them eat said candy, and make them go to bed? Come on. So now after my kid has just downed all that sugar, you want me to attempt to have him shower all the face paint off, and get in bed so he can go to school the next day? Is this real life?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that the "holiday" was created for a reason. What that reason is,  is beyond me. Hold on, let me Google it... Ok, so apparently according to History.com, "it originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. ... The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween." Um, yeah... We should just change it!

The petition was created by a group called the Halloween & Costume Association. Their mission:

It's time for a Safer, Longer, Stress-Free Celebration! Let's move Halloween to the last Saturday of October!

As of Friday, they had nearly 10,000 signatures. Make a difference, sign the petition. ;)

While we are talking about it, can we move Independence Day and St Patrick's Day to a weekend too? Ok, thanks!
