The State Patrol says the slick conditions contributed to almost 500 traffic crashes. 2 of them resulted in fatalities and there were 42 injuries. The fatal crashes occurred in Eagan and Thief River Falls. The State Patrol also responded to almost 300 vehicle spinouts statewide.

Local law enforcement agencies were also kept busy this morning responding to reports of crashes and vehicles in ditches after 3 to 4 inches of snow fell in the Rochester area last night and this morning.
