Some Guy Has Started a Petition to Ban WHAT?!

This is so ridiculous...

Some guy in England is on a mission to ban the sale of popcorn in movie theaters...

SAY WHAT NOW?

Yep, apparently 39-year-old author Mike Shotton started a petition to ban the sale of popcorn in British movie theaters.  And, he’s serious.

He’s had a problem with hearing moviegoers munch on their popcorn since way back in the '90s.  But it wasn’t until he went to see the new Star Wars movie that he snapped.

His petition takes aim at popcorn, calling it “noise pollution” and is requesting that it be monitored by the government’s environmental health department.

Of course, he’s fighting an uphill battle.  People (including my own mother) LOVE popcorn while at the movies so I'm fairly confident when I say they won’t be giving it up anytime soon.

On top of that, theater owners love popcorn because it’s making them rich.
