Rochesterfest is one of my favorite weeks of the year. If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for volunteering with anything and everything in our community. Sooooo, Rochesterfest is a busy week for me, because I get to be down there on stage in some capacity pretty much every day, and I LOVE IT! I love seeing everyone getting together and having fun!  Here are some of my favorite moments:

Tuesday evening Tracy McCray (Rochester's biggest media icon), Randy Brock (KTTC-TV), Steve Lange (Rochester Magazine) and I all teamed up with members of the audience to compete for the coveted trophy and plaid jacket for celebrity game night. Steve won, and I think I proved my lack of coordination quite nicely by losing EVERY game that didn't involve trivia, but we all had a blast!

On Wednesday I got to interview Rose Miller (Minnesota’s Miss Amazing Pre-Teen Queen) and she is just all sorts of adorable! The Miss Amazing pageant celebrates the abilities of those with disabilities, celebrating what they can do, and 10-year-old Rose, who was diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome when she was 76-days-old, will be going on to the National Miss Amazing Pageant June 30-July 4 in Chicago competing (in her age group) with girls from 30 states. I'll keep everyone posted on how that goes. Good Luck in Chicago, Rose!

Thursday, I got to host the Karaoke Extravaganza with Taj Simmons from KTTC-TV. This town is full of SO MUCH TALENT! Every year I'm blown away! And last night we got to see the balloon glow, I ALWAYS love seeing the hot air balloons all lit up, that happens again Saturday night, so make sure you catch that! While Taj and I were on stage, I looked out and saw former Mayor Chuck Hazama in the audience. (He was our mayor from 1979-1995.) Rochesterfest began during his time in office, and I love seeing that he still comes to it every year!

Coming up tonight is the big parade. Every year it still cracks me up that people set out blankets and chairs DAYS in advance to hold their spots!

And tomorrow, I get to host the Mayor's Kids Day with stage performances and tons of activities for kids! If you haven't been to Rochesterfest, make sure you head down. The food is fantastic and there is always a bunch of fun activities going on.
