These treats are laced with medication that's okay for humans, but definitely not okay for animals.

According to Go MN News, "The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says hot dog pieces and beef sticks with ibuprofen hidden inside them had been found on the border of Elko New Market and New Market Township." To be clear, Ibuprofen can be deadly to animals, and the risk is greater the smaller in size they are.

When this information was first posted on Facebook, it went viral in minutes.

The best way to steer clear of this nonsense (and scummy person, if I may add), is to never accept treats from someone or some place that you're not familiar with.

Remember, we're the first line of defense when it comes to our furry friends. Be on the lookout! Got any information on this case? Contact the sheriff’s office in Scott County at (952) 496-8300.
