Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Damaging hail was reported in the Rochester area Tuesday afternoon as a line of thunderstorms moved across southeastern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service received a report of half-inch diameter hail near Apache Mall and a couple miles southeast of Rochester. A KROC listener also reported nearly 1-inch hail about a mile north of the Rochester Airport, while there were numerous reports of quarter-inch diameter hail throughout Olmsted County.

The National Weather Service also received reports of 1 inch diameter hail in south-central Minnesota and nearly 1 inch hail in the Faribault area.

While thunderstorms were rumbling across southern Minnesota, areas of northwestern Minnesota were blanketed by several inches of snow
