On October 27th, it'll be 8 years since I lost my grandma (my best friend) to the horrible disease - pancreatic cancer!  A few years ago, I joined (on my grandma's birthday) the committee for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network of Rochester.  Pancreatic cancer is, sadly, only increasing in numbers and is projected to move into the number TWO spot of leading cancer killers.  Last night we had a great time laughing for a cause at "Stand Up To Pancreatic Cancer."  A huge thank you to Goonie's owner Mark Klampe for making this possible again this year.  He lost his dad to pancan 12 years ago.  I also wanted to thank my fellow committee member and friend, Kim Downs.  Here we are after making announcements last night.

Typically we have an event in Rochester every fall known as the Purple Stride.  BUT, this year, we are joining forces with our Twin Cities affiliate for the first ever PurpleRideStride on September 13 at Elm Creek Regional Park in Maple Grove, MN.  You can bike 8, 25, or 50 miles, OR walk/run the 5k.  Get details and sign up here.
