Starbucks Is Selling A $50 Gift Card That Costs $200?

Starbucks has just come out with a "limited-edition" card just for Mother's Day... 

Mother's Day is almost here (THIS Sunday for those of you not keeping track) and time is running out to get her something nice for a gift.  Well, this morning I found something on buzzfeed.com that may or may not qualify.

My Mom always taught me to save my money and spend it wisely... So this idea that Starbucks has for a Mother's day gift just seems to contradict all of that.

Turns out that Starbucks is selling a $50 fancy "hand-made" by designers gift card... that costs $200!?  This makes ZERO sense to me.  But then again, I'm not addicted to coffee like some people.  Plus, according to the Starbucks website, only 1,500 of the cards are being sold.  “The card, each hand-assembled, features a gorgeous artisan rose base metal with rose colored coating, laser-etched with traditional Starbucks lettering,” the site says.

In the words of motivational speaker Matt Foley - "Waaaaaell laa de frickin' da!"

For all you coffee aficionados out there, you might remember that this isn't the first time Starbucks has offered a "limited-edition" card.  Last Christmas, the company also sold a card that $200 and had $50 preloaded on it.

So, would you buy it?
