A teenage girl from Stewartville was pulled over on Sunday afternoon by someone possibly pretending to be a police officer.

According to KTTC, the incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of County Roads 6 and 8. The 17-year-old girl says she was pulled over by a dark colored car with a light bar on top. She says a man wearing a navy blue police officer uniform came up to her window and asked for her license and registration.  After looking at her license the man left in his car.

The man was described as a "white heavyset man in his 40s with dark hair with a scar above his right eyebrow."

Capt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office told the Post Bulletin, "I have no reason not to believe this happened. Law enforcement passing through this area on business is very common; it happens every day. We'd just like to hear from whoever this might have been."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department.
