As most of you know I became a first time father back in August.  It sounds corny but it truly has been the greatest thing ever.  Our boy is six months old now and growing fast.

My wife and I are really appreciative of the kind words we receive when we post pictures on our facebook pages. We've received so much helpful advice - warnings about sleepless nights and diaper blowouts, recommendations on which car seat/daycare/stroller to use, etc. No one ever told us about strangers though.  I'm blown away by the number of people that will stop and talk to our baby in public. They don't say anything to me - they just bend their heads down in the car seat and start baby-talking my son. That's weird, right? This has happened dozens of times and each time I let it slide but over the last couple of weeks people have actually started reaching down and grabbing his feet or hands or trying to tickle him. I smile and quickly push the cart away. These people are probably just trying to be nice and I'm probably just being an over-protective dad but it creeps me out. Parents, have you noticed this odd behavior? Would you walk up to a random adult and try to tickle them?  No!  So, why is it OK to do it to babies?
