Store Brand Vs. Name Brand

Yesterday I overheard coworkers talking about allergy medicine and how expensive it was.  It really is spendy - I've seen cold and allergy medicines priced at 12 bucks before, BUT right next to it I always see the generic version for 4 bucks.  I'm kind of a cheapskate so I always get the generic version of medicine.  I'm still alive so I assume they both work the same.

This conversation got me thinking about store brand vs. name brand.  Is there a store brand food product that's equal to or better than it's name brand version.   I can't think of any.

Dr Thunder vs. Dr Pepper?  It's not even close. Off brand sodas always taste flat.

Hydrox Cookies vs. Oreos?  My grandma always gave us Hydrox.   We loved them... until we tried Oreos for the first time and realized how much better they were.

Fruit Rings vs Fruit Loops?   Store brand cereal always tastes like it has been left open for awhile - kind of a stale taste.
