ST. CLOUD (Townsquare Media) — Threats of a tornado had residents in southern Stearns County concerned, but as quickly as it came the storm passed.

A tornado warning was issued around 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Trained weather spotters confirmed a tornado touched down in the Hawick area into Paynesville moving east.

The storms caused several streets in Paynesville to flood due to the heavy rainfall. The rain continues to move east towards the Kimball area.

Kandiyohi County was also feeling the effects of the storm, collecting about four inches of rain.
