Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Construction work in the Miracle Mile area will affect traffic.

The Rochester Public Works Dept. says 16th Ave SW/NW will be closed at the West Center St intersection, beginning Monday, May 8. Crews are scheduled to perform underground utility work at the intersection as part of the Miracle Mile development project. The department says access to all properties will be maintained during the closure.

The suggested detour route around this construction zone, is to use Civic Center Drive NW or 2nd Street SW to travel east to 11th Avenue SW / NW from which you can travel either north or south.

This project will also affect several Rochester Public Transit stops. Passengers who normally board at Canadian Honker will instead board on the east side of 11 AVE SW just north of 2nd St SW.
